Biography

Former Cherry Orchard player who signed for Newcastle United in 2010. Brandon, who has played for the Republic at Schoolboy and Youth level at all ages, made his debut for the Newcastle reserve team when he was just 16 years of age. An injury crisis in the reserves at St. James’s Park saw manager Peter Beardsley handing Brandon his debut against Manchester City in the F.A. Premier Reserve League.

After he came home to Dublin he had a spell with Bluebell United in the Leinster Senior League before signing for Shamrock Rovers before Christmas 2014. He became an instant hit with the Hoops’ faithful, earning himself the club’s senior Player of the Year and the league’s Young Player of the Year award in 2015.

Brandon also appeared for Ireland Under 21s in the friendly against Norway at the RSC in Waterford that year. Brandon has proven to be a prolific goalscorer by scoring 12 times in all competitions in his first season, 11 in his second, and 16 goals last year, netting a hat-trick against his old club Bluebell in the quarter-final of the FAI Cup.
