The club was in contact with the PPV rights holder of last night’s Celje match (Solidsport) live throughout the evening expressing concern on difficulties experienced by Rovers fans in getting the stream to play properly from kick off. Further discussions were had on the poor quality of the stream, in particular, the audio.
We requested that the provider offer refunds to those affected and, this morning, Solidsport advised of the following:
“Solidsport would like to apologize for yesterday’s broadcast of the NK Celje vs Shamrock Rovers match. We experienced heavy delays in the signal from Slovenia.
To make matters worse, when the stream finally arrived, its quality was below standard.
This is, of course, unacceptable, and Solidsport would like to offer a full refund to all viewers. Please email us at [email protected] to claim your refund.
We also want to emphasize that none of this should reflect on Shamrock Rovers, as they were not involved in any way in yesterday’s production.”
We thank Solidsport for taking such positive remedial action.
At this point, next Thursday’s second leg is optioned for PPV with production and commentary from our usual matchday partners. Details of the link will be sent in due course.
