Kickoff on Wednesday evening in Tallaght Stadium is 7.45 pm.

Going back to Shelbourne at Tolka Park, it was end to end stuff at times and was a draw a fair result?

“It was in the end, yes. I think Shels had some good chances, we had some good patterns of possession and some good chances so overall, I think a draw was a fair result.”

With it being two big clubs and live on TG4 was it a fittingly good game for a good occasion?

“It was. Even the feedback from people that were at the game was that it was very entertaining and that’s what we’re looking to do. Not just play a nice brand of football but play an attacking, entertaining style of football, as well as trying to win. It’s important for us that to try and grow the women’s team, the quality of football that we play has to be attractive.”

Jaime Thompson was awarded player of the match. Jaime impressed once again, was unlucky not to score herself a couple of times and how well did she do to create Áine O’Gorman’s opener in the second half?

“She’s been brilliant. She’d been very, very unlucky not to start the first couple of games but it’s nice to see the quality that we have. Against Treaty we took Abbie Larkin off and then you had Jaime that came on. She goes to the home of the current league champions and she doesn’t look out of place; in fact, she looks a step above and she’s still only part of the Irish under 19s. She’s going to have a really bright future ahead of her. For the goal, it was a great little drive by Jaime to get past the defenders and it was nice to have Áine coming in at the back post to tap it in. It was good attacking football.”

Shels came back into it and was there disappointment to concede the goal from a corner to make it 1-1?

“There was, and it wasn’t just the corner, we obviously could have dealt with that an awful lot better but there were occasions leading up to the corner where we need to do a little better. That’s all part of the transition and the changes we’re trying to implement, so hopefully we’ll get to a stage where we’re not even conceding the corner in the first place.”

Wexford Youths were title challengers last year and they have started with two wins this season. What do you make of them?

“They’re a very, very good side that have been together a number of years. I said it in the off season that they’d be my favourites to win the league, particularly when you add in the quality of Emily Corbet and Rianna Jarrett. It means they have a very sharp attack at the end of all the good build up play that they have. They’ve players of quality all the way through from Aoibheann Clancy to Kylie Murphy to Corbet and Jarrett up top. There’s real quality players there and they’re still my favourites to win it at the end of the year.”

You spoke about a good vibe in the ground at the first home game against Treaty so you’ll be hoping for more of that support and good will again in Tallaght on Wednesday?

“There was a great little buzz around the stadium at that Treaty game and we’re hoping to make Tallaght kind of a place to fear coming to,  and a place that teams don’t look forward to coming to. Although it’s a nice stadium, lovely surroundings and a lovely pitch, in reality I hope that they’re not exactly looking forward to the 90 minutes that’s going to be happening on the pitch. That’s for us to try and create that atmosphere and tempo and make it so when teams come here, they are fearful of what might happen.”

What’s the latest on the fitness of Summer Lawless and Savannah McCarthy, Stephanie Zambra’s injury and international call ups?

“Summer will be back in the squad, she’s back training now a couple of weeks. Sav is back in full training but this will be soon for her – it’ll be Galway before she’s in contention for being back in the squad. It’s great to have Sav back and getting through a number of training sessions. The other ones that are missing are Aoibhe Fleming and Aoife Kelly, they’re away with the Ireland Under 17s who actually play on Wednesday. Stephanie has about another 6-8 weeks to go. It is a long-term injury and it is unfortunate that she was only really getting back up to full speed after being out with Dancing with the Stars, but it is what it is. She knows she has a lot of hard work to do to get back into things but she’s one that will roll up her sleeves and do the work.”
