Shamrock Rovers F.C announce that Melissa O’Kane has signed for the WNL team for 2023.  

The Irish U19 International player joins the Hoops from Athlone Town. 

Speaking on her arrival at Rovers, O’Kane said “I am delighted to join Shamrock Rovers, it will be a great challenge for me and an opportunity to further my career. I’m very excited for the season ahead and can’t wait to get started in pre-season.” 

First-team manager Collie O’Neill said, “I am delighted to have Melissa on board. She is a young player who can play in several positions, she reads the game very well and is technically very good on the ball”. 

Head of Women’s football, Jason Carey is also very happy to Melissa on board saying “Melissa has a lot of experience in the league despite being quite young, she is a really good, tough defender who also has excellent technical ability when in possession. She definitely fits the profile of the type of player we want at the club.”
