Hoops Scene awarded Premier Division Programme of the Year for 2017 by the Irish Football Programme Club.
It is a great commendation that reflects the efforts made over the last 18 months to improve the matchday programme and give the fans something of great value for their €4 spend each matchweek.
The Hoops Scene team is a voluntary effort by a number of Rovers supporters led by programme editor Robert Goggins who said:
“I am delighted that Hoops Scene has been voted Programme of the Year in the Premier Division for the 2017 season. Last year we launched a new design, introduced some new contributors and new features. I would like to thank all of the regular and occasional contributors as well as our photographers George Kelly and Bobby Best and Fergal and John our graphic designers. Thanks also to the members of the Irish Football Programme Club for voting for Hoops Scene to be the winner for 2017.
I would like to think that Hoops Scene represents everything that is good at Shamrock Rovers. We try and make the programme as varied as possible, covering player interviews, general happenings at the club, historical features and the underage structure amongst other things. Thanks to the board and the administration staff for their support. We have introduced some additional new features this season including a fan spotlight which it is intended to develop further so rest assured we will not be resting on our laurels to continue to make Hoops Scene a good read and value for money.
I would like to conclude by congratulating Waterford on winning the First Division award”
